It's funny how we can pass by a spot over and over again and never think about photographing a portrait there. It could be for a number of reasons: ugly area, too dirty, unappealing, drab and dreary. Well this is one of those spots.
While photographing Celeste's Quince, we walked up to the balcony of the restaurant (Tamayo Restaurant in East LA) to take some photos. The only way to get up there though was to go through the attic. As we passed through I saw all those chairs and thought "This would be a great spot for a portrait!".
Sooo… once we completed the portraits on the balcony I stopped, grabbed another chair, asked Celeste, my model to sit down and prop her Chucks... er... shoes on the chair and started shooting away. Needless to say, the guy that was escorting us really looked at me funny at 1st… up until I showed him the photos. Same with the restaurant manager.
With all the weddings, events, and quinces that they’ve had there, guess they never had a photographer take a photo in that spot before. Hehe…
